The document as an environment
One intellectual object, without scattering its layers.
FileBook is a local writing and interlinear-research notebook. It keeps the source document and its notation as separate layers while displaying them together. The aim is practical: prose, source text, annotation, layout, images and evidence should not have to be divided among unrelated applications merely because the document is structurally demanding.

Portable and recoverable
A .filebook document is a portable ZIP container that can carry source and notation documents, images, grammars, layouts, typing codes and vocabulary metadata. Recovery snapshots do not overwrite the original document. Read-only character evidence can be copied into a document with its source information while the evidence database remains unchanged.
Current status
FileBook is an active native Windows application in development. Core document and notation work is implemented; deeper pagination, complex reflow and large-document behaviour still require further work. It is not yet offered as a public download.
